There is some talk of a new road being made on Back Creek, beginning at the farm of Pat McNulty and passing through the farms of Otho Gum, H. A. Slaven and Aaron Gum, to intersect the Back Creek road on Juniper Hill near the residence of George Sutton. This road is to be built by private subscription.

George Sutton's House Burned
At 3 o'clock Thursday morning Mr.George Sutton's dwelling, near Meadow Dale, was destroyed by fire, with all its contents, except some bed clothing which the family carried out when they left the house. The fire is supposed to have started from a back log rolling down from the kitchen fire place. Mr. Charley Gum lived in one part of the house. No insurance on the property.

Mr. George Sutton started to Pocahontas Tuesday alter a load of lumber, with which to rebuild near the site of his house that was destroyed by fire.
