Jimmie Jackson, 81 of Monroe died at 10:20 a.m. Friday at Mercy Memorial Nursing Center. He had been in poor health for ten months.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Lawrence Detruf, pastor of the First Church of God will officiate with burial to follow at Northside Cemetery, Maybee.

Born May 23, 1932 in Pineville, Kentucky he was the son of John and Debbie (Simpson) Jackson. He married Constance Blanton on July 23, 1955 in Tazewell, Tennessee.

Jimmie was employed for thirty years at the Ford Motor Company, Wayne Assembly Plant retiring in August 1994. He served his country in the U.S. Army from February 3, 1953 to January 12, 1955.

He was a former member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife Christine; children Debra (Dennis) Rohr of Monroe, Eric Glenn (Karen) Jackson of Grass Lake and Tim (Sandi) Jackson of Brighton; grandchildren Brice Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Bethany Jackson, Doug Rohr, Deanna Rohr, Jacob Jackson, Lauren Jackson, Kari Herrst, Kevin Coebbe and Greg Coebbe; great-grandchildren Colin Jackson, Mia Jackson and Aubrey Jackson; brothers, Arthur (Joyce) Jackson, John J. (Ruth) Jackson, Gary (Shirl) Jackson and Eddie (Beulah) Jackson all of Pineville, Kentucky; sisters, Loraetta (Freeman) Hoskins of Pineville and Coraetta (Dan) Fitzpatrick of Grays Knob, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Jackson and sister, Mary Cox.

Memorials may be made to the Mercy Memorial Hospice.
