Juanita was born to Daniel and Sophronia Elizabeth (Leverett) Shipman on Nov. 22, 1934, in Vera. Juanita was a nurse for many years before retiring. She was a member of Northside United Pentecostal Church in Amarillo. Juanita loved listening to gospel music, her pets and she enjoyed traveling with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lee “C.L.” Perkins; a son, Kevin Wayne Collins; her first husband and father of her children, Wilburn Collins; her parents, Daniel and Sophronia Shipman; a grandson, Cpl. Ryan Daniel Collins; four brothers, Lester, Alvin, Arthur, Clarence “Jr” Collins; and her dog of 16 years, Angel. Survivors include her children, Teresa Collins of Brownwood, Charlotte Collins of Brownwood, Gayland Collins and wife Cass of Broxton, GA., and Lynn Collins of Corinth; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her cat, Priss.
