Mr. Clayton Darrell Green, 74, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice in Salisbury, NC after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Green was born August 20, 1939 in Welch, WV and was the son of the late Clinton David Green and Geneva Beeman Green. He attended school in WV. He was formerly employed with Southern Screw where he was a machine operator.
Mr. Green is survived by his life-mate, Bernice Guyton of Salisbury and two daughters, Kayren Rippe (Joe) of Lake Wiley, SC and Sandra Anderson of Statesville. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Heather Hasemeyer, Holly Benfield, Erika Lawrence, Philip Anderson, Christopher Anderson, and Amy Anderson along with four great-grandchildren, Emma Grace, Wyatt, Hank, and Justin. He is further survived by two brothers, Vernon Green and Kenneth Greene and two sisters, Doris Burks and Erma Woods Nuse.
The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Nicholson Funeral Home and immediately following the visitation will proceed to Oakwood cemetery for graveside services with Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House of Salisbury, 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.
