Ella Rita Harper, 85, of Beverly, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born April 12, 1928 in Manchester Township, Morgan County, Ohio, daughter of Dale and Bernice Campbell Haines. She was a homemaker and graduated from Manchester High School Class of 1946. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church. She was married May 7, 1949 to James H. Harper who died July 8, 1982. She is also survived by 2 sons, Randy Harper and wife Sharon of Beverly and Joe Harper of Beverly; 2 daughters, Janet Beaver and husband Scott of Whipple and Jane Schwendeman and husband Rollie of Salem, Ohio; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Dale Thomas (Mary Dickinson) of McConnelsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister Alice Reed. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Brother Rollie Schwendeman officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
