Death:
She died at the Methodist Episcopalian Home for the Aged in Ocean Grove, Monmouth County, New Jersey on September 25, 1930 of asthma with atherosclerosis and uremia. She had been attended by the same physician from January 1, 1927 to her death on September 25, 1930.

Obituary:
Ocean Grove Times on September 26, 1930: "Mrs. Amy O. Rappleyea, 83, died yesterday morning of complications at the M. E. Home for the Aged, Ocean Grove. She had been a resident of the Home since 1926. Her nearest surviving relative is grandson, L. J. Gallandet, of Baltimore, Maryland. Funeral arrangements, in charge of Funeral Directors Matthew & Francioni, are pending word from the grandson."

Burial:
She was buried in Willow Grove Cemetery in New Brunswick, New Jersey according to her death certificate. She had no tombstone or it is no longer extant according to a cemetery census of extant stones taken on 2002.
