George W. Davenport 88. retired Dewitt farmer, died at H a. m. Friday in hi Decatur home following a lingering illness.

Mr. Davenport, a native of the Dewitt vicinity, retired several vears ago and moved to Decatur.

Surviving are two daughters Mrs. George Wilson and Mrs. W M. Harp, both of Clinton, two sons. Everett, Coldwater, Mich., and Floyd, Clinton, 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
