Clara M. Miles, 97, of South Abington Township, formerly of Mahanoy City, passed away Friday in Abington Manor, South Abington Township.
She was the widow of John C. Miles, who passed away in 1976.
Born in Delano, she was a daughter of the late Griffith and Lucy Rupert Lindner.
She was a 1932 graduate of Delano High School and a 1941 graduate of Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.
She was last employed as a registered nurse at Ashland State Hospital.
Clara was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mahanoy City.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Ellsworth, James, Robert, Donald, Russell and Ivor; and four sisters, Catherine Gerlott, Lois James, Evelyn and Ethel Lindner.
Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth, wife of Gerald Kelly, South Abington Township; son, Jack Miles and his wife, Donna, West Hazleton; grandson, Gregory Kelly and his wife, Julie; granddaughter, Lisa D'Ambrosio and her husband, Lee; nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Lamar Christ Funeral Home, Hometown, with the Rev. Christopher Wollyung officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
