Samuel Junior Burns, age 86, of Sevierville, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at his home. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was retired from Mize Lumber Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Burns; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Teresa Burns; infant son, Charles Burns; mother, Ida Burns; sisters, Rachel Myers and Helen York; brothers, Marvin, Rondie, and Levi Burns.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Daniel Moore; sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn Burns and Eileen Grooms, Ralph and Jean Burns, Paul and Connie Burns, Bruce Burns; grandchildren and spouses, Kevin Burns, Jonathan Burns, Robin Moore, Melinda Humphrey; great-grandchild, Cameron and Cole Moore, Hunter and Hannah Burns, Brady Burns; brother and sister-in-law, James and Gladys Burns, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Atchley 's Seymour Chapel with Rev. Jeff Blalock officiating. Interment will follow in Boyd's Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, 577-2807.
