George Alden Gadd passed away Nov. 16, 2000 after a short illness.

He was born April 6, 1907 to Samuel G. Gadd and Rozelphia Nordstrom in Nephi, Utah. He married Genevieve N. Miller on December 10. 1930; their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He worked for Utah Copper and Kennecott Copper for 48 years as a locomotive engineer and enjoyed his work with the company. It was always said that he had the cleanest engine on the hill. George was very active in the Copperton LDS Ward where he served in many callings including bishop for five years. He also sang in the ward choir and was a veil worker in both the Salt Lake and Jordan River Temples.

Survived by a son, George Earl (Pat), South Jordan; daughter, Jean Basta, Murray; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve; brothers, Dean and Melvin; sisters, Bertha Draper, Della Sadrup, Doris Hayes, and Conda Ewell.

Funeral services will be held in the Copperton Ward Chapel Monday, November 20, 2000 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Street Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.

The family would like to thank Gordon and Jackie Bodily for their friendship and kindness that they have always shown to Dad. We also would like to express our thanks for the special care given to both Mom and Dad by Gail Kigrow, Brook Mathis, and to Ramona Payne for all their special help.
