Catherine Ann "Cottie" (Nee Goetz) Carroll passsed away June 25, 2006, age 85. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jospeph Carroll, Sr.

Originally from Detroit, Cottie attended Gesu and Sacred Heart Schools, was a graduate of the University of Michigan and a member of the Chi Omega Sorority in Ann Arbor. Prior to marriage, she was employed by Owens Illinois in Detroit as an Executive Secretary.

During her life-time, she authored children's books, poetry and prose. She was also a certified Braille transcriber with special works now in the Library of Congress.

Cottie Carroll was an exceptionally loving mother and devoted wife. She was known to all as a wise and unselfish woman who never complained. Her unending love was given unconditionally and encompassed all who knew her.

She is survived by 7 children, 9 grandchildren, sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and her beloved dog, "Baby."

A Memorial Service was held Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to Iosco Animal Humanitarians, P.O. Box 56, East Tawas, MI 48730.
