"Mrs. Bertha May (Carter) Browne, a former resident of Depot street, Westford, died yesterday at the Hale Rest home, West Groton, following a long illness.
Mrs. Browne was the daughter of Lorenzo Dow and Eliza (Mills) Carter and was born in Lowell, December 9, 1877.
She was the wife of the late Walter Spaulding Browne, of Providence, R. I., where they made their home until Mr. Brown's death.
She was an attendant of the First Parish church, United, of Westford and a member of the Westford Branch Alliance and the Tadmuck club.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Carl E. Merrill, of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; Mrs. William E. Wright of Westford, and Mrs. John Feeney, Jr., of Washington, D. C.; three nieces and two nephews."
