John F. Barth, longtime area resident, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY. He is 94. Son of the late Emile Barth and Adelaide Sickendeck Barth, he was born in Tuxedo, NY on August 5, 1922.
John was a retired Supervisor for Abex, Inc. in Suffern, NY. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Arden, a veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II and was a member of Southfields American Legion Post. He was also a former empoyee for Arden Post Office and custodian for St. John's Episcopal Church in Arden. John was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox fan.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Redner Barth, at home; his sons, Stephen J. Barth of Arden & Martin A. Barth of Fishkill; his daughter Sharon Sigvartsen and her husband Harold of Arden; 5 grandchildren: Danielle Barth, Elizabeth Barth, Emilia Barth, Alicia Sigvartsen & fiance J. R. Vergara and Brianna Sigvartsen. John was predeceased by his brothers: William Barth & James H. Barth and his sisters: Margaret Barth McGregor and Helen Barth Phillips.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9th at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe, NY.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10th at St. John's Cemetery in Arden, NY.
