A homemaker most of her life, she had worked for a time at the shoe factory in Freetown. She was a member of Freetown Church of Christ, and she enjoyed bragging about her boys.
Born Oct. 2, 1927, in LaPorte, she was the daughter of Dan and Tessa (Lucas) Vader. She married Joe Lucas; and he preceded her in death Nov. 11, 1990.
Survivors include three sons, Danny Joe (Joy) Lucas, David Michael (Rosemary) Lucas and Douglas Kevin (Penny) Lucas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 1 p.m. Saturday at Freetown Church of Christ.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. David Lucas will officiate, assisted by Barry DeWitt, Doug Lucas and Dan Lucas.
Burial will follow at Lucas Cemetery in Freetown.
