His obituary:

Sergeant First Class Billy Joe Edde, a native of Lincoln County, died May 27 in the Second General Hospital in Landstuhl, Germany after a short illness. He was 39 years old and the son of the late Uriel W. Edde and Mrs. Laura Mae Bryant Edde, who survives.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with full military rites. Burial was in Riverview Memorial Gardens.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Erika Edde; two daughters, Margaret Edde and Laura Ann Edde, all of Landstuhl; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae McWhirter of Lincoln County; Mrs. G. W. Pitcock of the Coldwater community, Mrs. Willard King of Nashville, and Mrs. Jean Lee of Cleveland, Tennessee; seven brothers, W. B. Edde, John Edde, and G. W. Edde, all of Nashville, Ray Edde of Washington, D. C., and Wilburn Edde of Manchester, Fred Edde of Guntersville, and Uriel Edde, Jr., of Rutledge, Tennessee.
