An Old Soldier Passed Over the River
Yesterday Afternoon.

The funeral of Mr. W. A. Elliott, who died yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. D. Michael, at No. 610 North Caldwell Street, will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 5 o’clock by Rev. L A. Falls. The pallbearers will be Messrs. C. B. Sykes, W. D. Stone, T. M. Hall, J. P. Sossaman, J. R. Winchester and T. J. Black.

The deceased was a native of Cabarrus County. He moved to Charlotte about 12 or 15 years ago, and has since made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Michael. He was a consistent member of the Methodist Church, and attended services regularly. He served four years in the war being a member of the 37th North Carolina regiment.

He is survived by a widow and one daughter, Mrs. E.D. Michael.

The Mecklenburg Camp of Confederate Veterans attended the funeral.
