Bertha J. Fergel

Bertha J. Fergel, 91, Topeka, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1993, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mrs. Fergel had worked for Bell Telephone Co., Morrell's, and was a cook for the American Legion and Jardine Junior High School.

She was born Oct. 12, 1902, in the Watson community, the daughter of Lewis and Mollie Whitlow Klesath.
Mrs. Fergel was a member of First United Methodist Church in Topeka.

She was married to Fred Fergel on Sept. 10, 1921. He died April 14, 1962.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Harrison and Freda Gurss, both of Topeka; a sister, Anna Eads, Topeka; a brother, William Klesath, Kansas City, Mo.; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Mount Hope Chapel. Private burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Fergel will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home where family and friends will meet from 3 until 4 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 5375 S.W. 7th, 66606.
