Daughter of William H. & Celia King Wimborough. Married Martin Thomas Ploughe on September 15, 1892 in Clinton County, Indiana.

Mary Wimborough Ploughe was the Author of two books.
One of them is a book called "At Anchorage", which I own a copy of.

Obit: Mrs. Mary Wimborough Ploughe died at 9:30 o'clock Monday night at her home here, having suffered a stoke of paralysis while attending a meeting of the Women's Study club on Friday afternoon. She had been in failing health the last four years.

Mrs. Ploughe was born in Clinton County, the daughter of William H. and Celia King Wimborough, but had spent most of her life here. Her marriage to Dr. Martin T. Ploughe took place September 15, 1892, and he died in 1937.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Jessie Cunningham, Kempton; a brother, Robert Wimborough, Sugar Creek township, and three nephews and a niece, Bill Wimborough, Sugar Creek, and James, John and Joan Wimborough, Lebanon.

Mrs. Ploughe was one of the first members of the Methodist Church here and worked actively in it, having taught a Sunday school class 40 years. She was a charter member of the Kempton Woman's Study club and a member of the D.A.R. society and the O.E.S. chapter at Tipton and recently was made a member of the Mark Twain society as an honorary member for her writing of poetry. Five years ago, the Eugene Fields society conferred on her a similar award.

The funeral will be held at the Methodist church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. David Gosser officiating. Burial will follow in the Hills cemetery, southwest of Kempton. The body was returned to the home from the McMullen funeral home Tuesday afternoon and friends may call there until 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon when it will be taken to the church to lie in state until the hour for the funeral.
