Phyllis Lefler Simmons Abdallah went to be with our Lord On Dec 2, 2011, after suffering injuries in a fall.

She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Rev. C. Stuart Simmons, her parents, Mr. Paul and Mrs. Beatrice Lefler, her brothers, Mr. Arthur and Mr. Paul Lefler, and her in-laws, Mr. George and Mrs. Thelma Weslar, Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Nora Abdallah, Mr. Alan and Mrs. Alyce Olney, Mr. Lawrence and Mrs. Edna Witteman and Mrs. Jaqueline Abdallah.

She is survived by 2nd her husband of 59 years, Frederick Abdallah, her son, Mr. Jim Abdallah and his wife, Nancy, and their children, Mrs. Jaryn and Mr. Nicolas Abdallah, Mr. Justin Abdallah, Ms. Rebekah and Ms. Lauren Abdallah, and also a brother-in-law, Mr. Charles Abdallah, along with many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis graduated from Wellsburgh N.Y. High School and was an alumnus of Florida Southern College, New Jersey College for Women (Rutgers), Harpur College and Cornell I.R.R. (graduate courses). She worked on the staff of Riverside Church in New York City, as a statistician for Oxford Paper Co. and was Personnel Director at Drybak Corp. in Binghamton. For many years she worked for the NYS Department of Labor as a Senior Counsellor and in the 1980's she and her husband, Fred, owned Abdallah's Pizza and Sub Shop in Hillcrest, NY.

Phyllis enjoyed coaching Chenango, Bridge, teen-age girls' basketball and softball teams. She was also an avid NCAA Basketball fan.

She and her husband, Fred, spent a number of years travelling to Florida during the winter and in recent years enjoyed the comfort of their home in Hillcrest, NY.

A memorial service was held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, at the Community Baptist Church on 743 Chenango Street in Port Dickinson, N.Y.. The family greeted friends at a luncheon reception immediately following her memorial service.

Private burial was in Chenango Valley Cemetery.
