Richard Harvey Pace, 80 years of age, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 after a period of failing health. He was born in Weymouth and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of the Weymouth Vocational School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served in Korea. Richard was employed as a Sheet Metal Worker for the Kennedy Sheet Metal Company of Weymouth prior to his retirement. He was an active member of the Weymouth Lodge of Elks #2232. He also belonged to the American Legion Post in Plymouth where he had spent summers over the years. He was the devoted father of Michael R. Pace of South Weymouth and Kimberly A. Schneider and her husband William G. Schneider of Weymouth. He was the loving grandfather of Elizabeth Schneider of Weymouth. He was the great-grandfather of Emilie. Richard was the brother of David Pace of California, Donald Pace of Weymouth and MaryLou Raples of Rockland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Richard was the companion of Alice Vance of Weymouth. He was the former husband of Patricia (McIntyre) Pace of Weymouth. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 870 Broad Street (opposite the U.S. Post Office in Jackson Square), East Weymouth on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be an Elks Service during the visiting hours. Burial with Marine Corps Honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be sent to the Activities Fund of Weymouth Healthcare Center, 64 Performance Drive, Weymouth, MA. 02189.
