McFadden, Kenneth E., age 90 of Glen Dale, WV died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale.
He was born June 14, 1923 in Silver Hill, WV the son of the late James H. and Oma Darrah McFadden.
He was a WWII Army Veteran, having served with General McArthur in the Philippines; a member of Glen Dale United Methodist Church; an employee with the former Valley Camp Coal Alexander Mine, until their closing; a retired security supervisor from Reynolds Memorial Hospital; a volunteer fireman and past President of the Glen Dale Volunteer Fire Department; a member of Earl Francis Post #3 American Legion; VFW Post #437; and Glen Dale Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Hattie McFadden, who raised him; a son-in-law, Charles S. Garvick; a brother, Jack McFadden; and a sister, Velma Bohrer.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jean Burgess McFadden; a daughter, Sandy McFadden Garvick of Glen Dale; a brother, Roy DeBolt of FL; two sisters, Mary McGlumphey and Ramona (James) DeBolt, all of Aleppo, PA; several nieces and nephews; and Debbie Claycomb of Moundsville, who he considered his daughter.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held Friday at 10am with Rev. John Lepp officiating.
Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard where the Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct military services.
