Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Chavis Joiner, 33, of Craig Circle, Oteen, who died Tuesday in an Asheville hospital were conducted this afternoon at the Oteen Baptist Church with the Rev. O.J. Hagler, chaplain at Oteen, officiating.
Pallbearers were Mike Chavis, Jr., Clyde Chavis, T.M. Greene, G.W. Kelley, T.A. Mease and Douglas Furnace.
A resident of Asheville for the past three years, Mrs. Joiner is survived by her husband, James E. Joiner of Oteen; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.B. Chavis of Soperton, Ga.; three brothers, Charles G. Chavis of Soperton, M.K. Chavis of Savannah, Ga., and Norris Chavis of Tarrytown, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. J.D. Smith of Valdosta, Ga., and Mrs. A.H. Holton of Midville, Ga.
Morris-Gearing Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
