Mr. Burt for many years held an executive position with the Machinists' Foundry here and took an active part in the civic life of Muncie. He was one of the group of men who formed the association that made possible the building of the Muncie Field House. He served with the Ball Brothers Company for several years and at the time of his death was secretary of the Muncie Housing Authority and manager of Munsyana Homes.
Mr. Burt was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Rotary Club and the Muncie Lodge of Masons.
He is survived by the widow, Margaret; a daughter, Mrs. George Burkwood Barnard, Jr., of Muncie; a son, Joseph Burt of Muncie; four grandchildren, Carolyn and George Barnard and Cynthia Jo and Robert Andrew Burt, and a brother, Frank Burt.
The body was taken to the Meeks Mortuary and will be returned to the home Tuesday. Mr. Burt was removed to Ball Hospital Friday.
