GREENWELL, HARRY EDWARD, 68, of New Albin, IA passed away January 31, 2013 in Lansing, IA.

Harry, a man with many friends who loved his straight-up attitude, and his willingness to help anyone. His spirit will live on in many by good deeds he offered.

As a employee of the Canadian Pacific Railroad, providing public safety for 30 years, he retired February 2010. Harry enjoyed organic gardening, selling his organic produce at the local Farmers Market, traveling, reading, wordsmithing, avid college sports fan, and selecting winning thoroughbred horses.

Born on December 9, 1944, in Louisville, to Paul and Dorothy Greenwell.

He is survived by his wife, son, daughter,seven siblings, four nieces; one nephew; two great-nephews, and; one great-niece.

A celebration of his life will be held 1-6 p.m. Saturday in Community Center of New Albin, IA, followed by a special Mass at The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Lansing IA on Sunday at 10 a.m. Harry will be inurned with a formal service at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road, Louisville, at 1p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013.

Harry Greenwell, 68, of New Albin passed away January 31, 2013, following a battle with cancer. Harry has chosen cremation and requested there be no funeral or visitation at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Harry was born December 9, 1944 in Louisville, KY to his parents, Paul & Dorothy Greenwell. Harry worked on railroad track maintenance for many years. He retired from the Canadian Pacific Railroad in 2010. He enjoyed gardening and selling his produce at the local Farmers Market. Harry liked to travel, read, watch college sports, and enjoyed thoroughbred horseracing.
