John Wood Bevington, son of Henry and Rachael and the father of Henry H. our subject, was born in Mercer co., Ohio, May 4, 1827, was reared to manhood on the home farm and later became an extensive farmer and stock dealer on his own account. John and Delilah Strete were married in Mercer co., Ohio November 14, 1847. They had a family of 3 children; two died in their infancy, only one being left [Henry H.] John died June 1877; Delilah died Dec 8, 1893.

Gravesite Details
According to a relative doing research on the Wood Family, she reported that the Historical Society in Rockford told her that all the remains were dug up in 1958 and the tombstones were tossed by the river. Remains relocation unknown.
