Michael "Derick" Thrasher, 51 of Fairview, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013. A native of Buncombe County he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Lou Chapman Rios. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Joseph Fender and niece, Cheyenne Carney. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Tina Thrasher; son, Michael Justin Thrasher (Asley) of Fairview; sister, Sheila Rios of Chandler; grandchildren, Sabrina, Trevor, and Landon; and nieces, Natasha Rios. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 26 at the Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Rev. Edgar Waters will be Officiating.
