Former Kenoshan dies unexpectedly
Eugene G. Carney, 44, Delaney Rd., Wadsworth, Ill., died unexpectedly of a heart attack Thursday afternoon while riding a horse and driving cattle near Grayslake, Ill.
He was born June 6, 1920, in Kenosha, and resided in Antioch Township, Ill., before moving to Wadsworth in 1942. On Dec. 19, 1942, at St. Patrick's church in Wadsworth, he married Letty Church. He was a member of St. Patrick's church and the Holy Name society of the parish.
He operated a farm and was a livestock dealer in partnership with his brother, Joe. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors are his widow; five sons, Ronald, Waukegan, and Allan, Fred, Michael and Patrick, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Emily Carney, Kenosha; one granddaughter; three brothers, Robert and Joe, both of Wadsworth, and Jerry, Kenosha, and four sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Lucille) Koennen, Burlington; Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Elfering and Mrs. Francis (Ann) Held, both of Kenosha, and Mrs. Derek (Nancy) Hole, Bristol.
