She was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford T. Kelley, and her parents, Fred E. and Pearl Hargett Hamilton.
Mrs. Kelley graduated Russellville High School in 1944 and the University of Alabama in 1947 with a BS degree in Home Economics. Mrs. Kelley served in the Auburn Extension Service as a Home Demonstration Agent in Henry, Tallapoosa, and Elmore Counties, Alabama, for a total of 20 years, retiring in 1967. Upon retirement, she married Crawford T. Kelley and lived in Huntsville, Ala. where Mr. Kelley retired as a civilian employee of the US Department of the Army at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Ala. after 30 years of service. Meanwhile, Betty worked several jobs with various state and federal agencies in Huntsville, Ala. where Mr. and Mrs. Kelley's home was located until health reasons caused them to move into Southern Manor Assisted Living, Russellville, Ala., in April, 2010
