Daughter of John Jacob and Elizabeth (Glenn) Weidenhammer, Cora was born on a farm six miles east of Golden in Schuyler County, Illinois. The family moved to Galesburg when she was young, and spent most of her life there. She married Carl Haggenjos in Galesburg on 26 Nov 1891, and was blessed with four children: Irma Louise, Raymond Glenn, Lawrence Frederick, and Robert C Weidenhammer. Her husband, and sons Raymond and Lawrence preceded her in death.
Her husband Carl Gustavus Haggenjos was born in Knox County of German parents. He could speak German with his wife's parents and grandmother. This so pleased the grandmother that she gave him a German Bible which she had received when 12 years old. Mr. Haggenjos valued that Bible very highly; he had ever held on to it. Carl was a breeder of English bull dogs, owning many valuable and prize-winning dogs.
Mrs. Haggenjos attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she taught a Sunday School class and was not absent for 7 years. Their two sons Lawrence and Robert they raised from infancy but did not adopt them.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 pm in Hinchliff Pearson Funeral Home and burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
