Margaret [Unknown] Shaw was born about 1769 in (probably) York County, South Carolina. Her parents' names are not known at this time.

Margaret married William Shaw, Sr. in 1783 at York County, Carolina when she was fourteen years of age. Their children were William Jr., Elizabeth, Gilbert, Ann, Jane and Margaret Shaw.

Margaret died June 4, 1835 in York County and is laid to rest in the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Rock Hill, South Carolina. William followed her in death on February 28, 1842 and is laid to rest by her side in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
