We respectfully announce the passing of Mrs. Martha Louise Thompson, age 92 of Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Newnan, on July 14, 2021 at her residence.
Obituary
The lord has been her dwelling for the last 92 years.
On July 14, 2021, God sent his angel to pick one of his best flower out of his Garden.
Martha Louise Thompson, was born January 31, 1929, to the late Aubrey and Martice Robinson. A native of Newnan, Georgia, she lost her battle with dementia, but won permanent residency with the Lord.
She was a faithful member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church, serving on several committees as church secretary and a choir member. She attended church
regularly until her health declined.
Educated in the Lutherville School system, she attended Fort Valley College and received an Education Degree, then she matriculated to West Georgia College where she received her Masters in Education. She taught Elementary Education in the Coweta and Greenville School System for 30 years.
Martha was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Jessie Morris Thompson, and to this union two sons were born. She loved her family, loved to shop and sing. Affectionately known as Mother, Gran-Gran, Granny, Big Great Granny or Auntie, she will truly be missed but we know we have to let her go. She loved and touched so many throughout her life journey.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son.
