BRIGHAM CITY - Orval Kurt Anderson passed away April 20, 1997 in Chicago, IL. He and his wife were currently serving as misisionaries for the LDS Church in the "Chicago Temple mission.

He was born April 15, 1929 in St. Charles, Idaho a son of Kurt Ragner and Delpha Elizaibeth Arnell Anderson. He married Ila Dalea Howard on Aug. 12, 3953, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He had been in the service, serving his country in the Korea War where he was stationed in France.

Orval loved the Bear River Valley, where he was born and raised, He enjoyed spending time there with his family and friends.

He was a barber by trade, barbering at the Utah State University Union Building in Logan for four years before moving to Brigham City. He owned Andy's Barber Shop, where he barbered for 40 years before recently retiring in August 1996. He had many friends and associates who he loved to see and visit with regularly through his profession.

He was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many callings including, Elders Quorum Presidencies, Counselors in the Bishopric, Bishop, and in the Branch Presidency at the Pioneer Care Center. He also served on the High Council, as a High Priest Group Leader, Stake Missionary, Sunday School Teacher and other various callings. He loved Home Teaching and attending the Temple.

He enjoyed music, especially singing with his grandchildren, the Tenth Ward Men's Choir and with the Chicago Temple Choir.
He had a great love for his family, and was a friend to everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Ila of Brigham City, six children: Kurt (Shauna) Anderson of Albany, Georgia; DaleS (Brian) Hardy of Brigham City; Jay (Lorie) Anderson of Brigham City; Shawna (Lloyd) Rhodes of Brigham City; Von (Karin) Anderson of Worcester, Massachusetts; Arnell (Caroline) Anderson of Brigham City, and 17 grandchildren; two cultural exchange students: Corinna Sandoval of Canoncito, New Mexico, and Anne Suhren Hickkenlooper of Provo. He is also survived by one brother, Carl Anderson of Hyrum; two sisters: Mildred (Rex) Arnell of St. Charles, Idaho and Elizabeth (Keith) Passey of Athens, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, at 1 p.m. at the Brigham City Tenth Ward, 145 West 500 South. Friends may call at the Peterson Funeral Chapel, 634, East 200 South in Brigham CityJ. Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Saturday, 11:30-12:40 p.m.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.

The family would like to express special thanks to the Chicago Temple Presidency, and Missionaries, also the Hospice of Northshore, and the staff at the Evanston Hospital, Evanston, Illinois.
