Duncan McLachlan was born in Ontario, Canada, Feb. 5, 1853 and departed this life at this home in Evart, March 2, 1923 at the age of 70 years and 25 days.
He was married to Sophrona Waun in Park Hill, Canada, Dec. 25, 1877. To this union wee born 6 children: 5 daughters and 1 son: Margaret Emily, Mary Jane, Ida May, Athur James, Laura Mae, and Hattie Idoma. Ida May departed this life at the age of 3 years and Laura Mae Foote this past June. After coming to Michigan he united with the Church of Christ of which he was a minister for nearly 20 years.
