Donald Schulte

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 20 at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel, Pittsburg, Ca. For Donald W. Schulte, 62, formerly of Waukon. He died in Mount Diablo Hospital in Concord, Ca. following a brief illness., burial was in Oak View Cemetery in Antioch, Ca.

Born May 21, 1928 in Dorchester, he was the son of Rose and Joseph G. Schulte and graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1946. In 1948 he enlisted in the Army Air Force, and was stationed in Alaska and California before being discharged in September, 1953. He was owner and operator of Ice & Fuel Company in Antioch, and was a member of Operating Engineers #3 and Veterans of Foreign Wars #5435.

Surviving are his wife, Juanita; a daughter, Roseann; three sons, Donnie, Darrell and Duane; four grandchildren; two brothers, Leon of Waukon and Harold of Swisher, and seven sisters, Aileen Hammel of Cresco, Lorraine Monserud, Rita May, Joan Troendle and Karen Hammel, all of Cedar Rapids, Donna Blocker of Marion and Adele Howe of Waukon.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche McClain, and a brother Dale.
