ANGLETON, TX - A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Angleton for Glenda Dare Rogers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, LA on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
Glenda Dare Rogers, 80, passed away on October 20, 2013 in Angleton, Texas. She was born on June 14, 1933 in Bunkie, Louisiana to George Stafford and Lillian Singleton Dare. Glenda retired from American Red Cross. In years past, she volunteered for the Angleton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Marshall Payne Memorial Trail Ride.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sherrie Rogers Henslee; sisters, Virginia Dare Scott, Dorothy M. Dare, Ruth Martin Hanson; and brother, H.G. "Buddy" Dare.
Glenda is survived by daughters, Brenda Sue Thompson and husband, Cecil Sanchez; Denise Rogers Faries; sons-in-laws, David Thompson and Jesse Henslee; grandchildren, Brian David Thompson and wife, Jessica; Russell Thompson, Stephanie Faries Clark and husband, Aaron; Richard M. Faries and wife, Katie; Chris Henslee; and seven great grandchildren.
