Kathryn Joan Stoll Polen Thoms, 85, Clinton, passed away at 2:22 a.m. Monday (Oct. 21, 2013) at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Illinois.
Joan was born July 21, 1928, in Clinton, Illinois, the daughter of Carl F. Stoll and Lillian Johnston Stoll. She married Harry D. Polen on July 19, 1946, in Tacoma, Washington and later married Herbert "Bud" Thoms on December 27, 1975, in Clinton.
Joan is survived by her sons, Steve (Merlin) Polen and Scott Polen, Alice Polen and Rosa Perez, one sister, Peggy Taylor, six stepchildren; six grandchildren, Jeff Polen, Jamie Polen, Tisha Polen Adams, Chris Landstrom, Chassidy Houser and Charlie Gironimi, 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Polen, one grandson, Todd James Polen and her husband, Herbert "Bud" Thoms.
Joan was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clinton.
