Our loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister, returned to her Heavenly Father unexpectedly on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Sara was born October 16, 1963 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Bud Jones and Elaine Rigtrup Shepherd. She enjoyed growing up in a large family of eight children and a home filled with much love. Sara attended Lake Shore schools and then attended and graduated from Spanish Fork High School and Seminary.

Sara married Steven Strong in 1982 and they resided in Lehi for over 20 years. They were later divorced. She married Mark Lee Oliver, Sr. on July 6, 2010 in Cedar City, Utah where they currently reside. She was a wonderful mother and a loving and compassionate wife. Sara was her kids biggest fan and their loudest cheerleader. She supported her kids no matter what. Her family was the focus of her life. She was dedicated to them in every way.

Sara operated and co-owned Shepherds Cake and Candy for 25 years. A well-known chocolatier and wedding cake designer, Sara was a hard worker and always put others before herself.

Sara was a very happy person and a friend to everyone. Her hobbies included playing the piano and organ, sewing, ceramics, and most recently painting. She also enjoyed camping, 4 wheeling, fishing, and being outdoors.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sara served in many callings. She and her husband most recently served as Missionaries in the 12 step program for the church.

Sara is survived by her husband, Mark; parents, Bud and Elaine Shepherd, Lake Shore; children, Stacee (Cade) Herbert, Lehi; Elizabeth (Jason) Stott, Rock Springs, WY; Megan (Lee) Williams, Pleasant Grove; Shaelynn Strong, Spanish Fork; Mark Jr. (Tiffany) Oliver, Cedar City; Jeff (Shayla) Oliver, Magna; Bryce Oliver, Cedar City; Elizabeth Oliver and Emma Oliver, both of Cedar City; in-laws, Kenneth and Evelyn Oliver, Cedar City; siblings, Chris (Karen) Shepherd, Allen (Ruth) Shepherd, Alaina (Shelley) Shepherd, Chad (Marie) Shepherd, Annie (Ethan) Rencher, Mike (Cindy) Shepherd, and Paul (Ruben) Shepherd.
