Jim was raised by his uncle, John M. Blevins. Jim's Father was Wick Henry Blevins. He married Ruby Lavone Blevins Sept. 20, 1941 and they had four children. His son is buried at his feet, Jimmy Darryl Blevins. His brother, Kemper Quentin "Kemp" Blevins and Kemp's wife are buried in the same cemetery close by. Jim Blevins was a coal miner until he became disabled with Black Lung and spent the remainder of his short life assisting his wife raising the children until his death in 1957. He died of complications of Black Lung. Doctor said he drowned from within. Kidneys, heart, all organs shut down. Died in Oak Hill Hospital, Oak Hill, Fayette County, WV. Interred by Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV.
