Robert Basler (Bobby B), age 55, a Manitowoc resident, died on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at his residence.

Robert was born on March 14, 1956 son of the late Roger and Delores (Getchell) Basler Sr. He served in United States Army. Robert was a fork lift driver for Manitowoc International Paper for 30 years. He loved riding his motorcycle, being with his friends and DJing in Manitowoc County. He was also a member of the Manitowoc Eagles Club Arie No. 706.

Survivors include his five siblings and their spouses: Sherry Bingman, Manitowoc, Gloria and Joseph Alaers, Montana, Rev. James and Mary Basler, Lori and Duane Blazer, Tina and Alvin Bruckner, all of Manitowoc; one sister-in-law: Kathy Basler. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Roger Basler Jr, one nephew: Timothy Alaers, and one brother-in-law: Jerry Bingman.

Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. A memorial service for Robert will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Joe Boyle, followed by Military Honors led by AmVets Post No. 99. Robert will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:15 p.m.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Bobby's name.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home and All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
