Billy T. Rentschler, 77, of Bloomfield, died at 7:08 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Shakamak Good Samaritan Center in Jasonville. Born July 24, 1926, in Clay City, he was the son of Loy and Bessie Thomas Rentschler. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, had worked in administration at Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center for 37 years, retired. He also worked in job placement at Four Rivers Rehabilitation Services, and was retired from that position. He was a member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn L. Moyer Rentschler; a brother, Merl C. Rentschler of Plainfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn Wilson Thompson; and two brothers, Cleve Rentschler and Charles Rentschler. Services were at 1 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 15, with graveside services at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Lysle Pittman officiating.
