Pauline M. Ankney, age 89, of Burr Oak, passed away late Sunday evening, Oct. 20, 2013, at Sturgis Hospital.
She was born Aug. 30, 1924, in Sturgis, a daughter of the late Paul and Marion (Rasbaugh) Ankney.
Pauline had resided in Burr Oak since 1932, coming from Sturgis.
She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis, was a homemaker and for many years enjoyed babysitting.
Pauline is survived by a sister, Donna Sweet of Burr Oak; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Paul "Bud" Ankney Jr., Donald Ankney and Charles Ankney; and two sisters, Virginia Miller and Patricia Kyle.
The family will receive friends from noon-1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Pauline M. Ankney will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Father Alphonse Savarimuthu MSFF of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
