She was the daughter of William Thomas Cannon and Mary (Mamie) Gray Allen. Her parents married on 26 Jan 1889 in Marengo County, Alabama.

On 18 Aug 1930 she was appointed postmistress of Gainestown, Clarke, Alabama.

Mrs. Bessie Cannon Lambard--A resident of Gainestown, Ala., died in a Mobile hospital Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1971. Mrs. Lambard is survived by her husband, Mrs. William J. Lambard Sr. of Gainestown, Ala.; three sons, W. J. Lambard Jr. and Richard E. Lambard, both of Gainestown, Ala., and Allen C. Lambard of Alexandrai, La.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held in the family cemetery in Gainestown, Ala., Friday, Aug. 6, 1971.
