The burial of Mrs. Sam Hurlbert at the I.O.O.F. cemetery here Wednesday was solemnized by a very faithful number who journeyed the long distance from Novelty to pay their last tribute of respect to the dead by the very tender and impressive ceremony rendered by the members of the Rebecca lodge of which the deceased was a member. The ceremony at the grave was beautiful and very touching, and we would like to know if the cold heart of a sinner could hear the soft sacred words of love so fittingly spoken over one that was dead and fail to arouse their smouldering low ebbed life and realize what death is? — F. Mrs. Kate Hurlbert, wife of Samuel Hurlbert and of whom mention has been made before as being very low with consumption, died last Tuesday. Her funeral was preached by Elder Martin Wednesday, in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends, after which the remains were taken to the new I.O.O.F. cemetery, where the burial services were held at the grave by the sisters of Rebecca Lodge, of which she was a member, after which her body was tenderly laid away to await the resurrection morn. The sorrowing husband, daughter and sisters have our sympathy in this, their hour of need. — SNOWFLAKE.
