Richard Alan Carmichael, 51, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Encounter Church with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 p.m., Thursday October 24, 2013, at the church. Interment will be in Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Richard was born in Wichita, Kansas, to Donald and Lou Ann Carmichael. Richard was known as Rick to his friends and family. He was a missionary to Taiwan, Indonesia, and Singapore. He worked as a teacher and school principal and his passion was to see people come to know the love of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Gemma Carmichael; his parents; brothers, Donald and Brian Carmichael; sisters, Cathy, Lisa and Christina; nieces, Sara, Abigail and Sadee; nephew, Nicholas; aunts, Cathy and Linda; uncle, John; and cousins, LaVonna, Dan and Robin. T13
