Ingvard Skobo Died July 3rd
Ingvard Skobo, 71 year old Blair man, died at Memorial Community Hospital Monday, July 3rd. He had been in failing health for several years and confined to the hospital for the past six months.
He came to Blair with his family twenty years ago and had operated a farm at the east edge of Blair. They moved to Blair from the Laurel, Nebraska area.
The deceased was born October 7, 1894 at Redsted, Mars, Denmark.
On June 17, 1926 he was married to Miss Mathilda Jacobsen, who came to this country from Denmark. The wedding took place at Laurel, Nebraska.
After coming to Blair he took an active part in many local activities. He was affiliated with the First Lutheran Church and has served as President of the Church Council. At the time of his death he was President of the Good Shepherd Home board, a member of the Board of Directors of the Blair Rotary Club, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Mason.
He was a World War I veteran and saw action in several major campaigns.
He is survived by his wife, Mathilda, and by four daughters.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. today (Thursday) at the First Lutheran Church. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.
