Carol Jean Holland 65, was born on May 14, 1948 in Redlake, Minnesota. Carol went home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2013, with her family by her side at home.

Carol was united in Holy Matrimony to Pastor Preston Holland, Jr. on April 2, 1970. They affectionately called each other "Honey".

She was an active member and First Lady of the Church of the Word of God, North Chicago, Illinois serving faithfully alongside her husband Preston in years of the ministry of Jesus Christ.

She served her country in the U.S. Army for 2 years was employed by Great Lakes Naval Base for 21 years, First Student, Olsen Transportation and joint business owner of Preston's Upholstery, North Chicago, IL. Our precious Carol was loved by her family and so many others.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Rev. Preston Holland; her children, Cynthia Holland of Milwaukee, WI, Vincent Holland of Memphis, TN, Valery Holland of North Chicago, IL, and Gerard Holland of North Chicago, IL; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters, June Holstein, Florene Prentice, Karen Badu, and Annie (Herb) Thunder; her brothers, George Holstein, Jr. and Wally Holstein and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.

A Celebration of Her Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, October 12, 2013 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 708 Greenwood Avenue, Waukegan, IL. Rev. Jimmie Johnson, Pastor. Pastor John Nabors, Officiating.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will be Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
