HUNT - Jan Elizabeth Pollard Thomas, 57, of Hunt, passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at her residence.
Jan was born April 22, 1953, in Kerrville to L.W. and Margery Raechel Hausler Pollard. Jan married Geoff Thomas on July 14, 1979, in Kerrville.
She graduated from Tivy High School in 1971 and attended the University of Houston. She worked in Austin for the State Board and for Lloyd Koenig Studios in Houston.
Jan was a devoted mother who enjoyed cooking, and she enjoyed entertaining her many friends and family. Jan also enjoyed photography and the Hill Country. She was active in the Hunt Garden Club and BSF.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents, L.W. and Margery Hausler Pollard; and by two brothers, John Marshall Pollard and First Lieutenant L.W. Pollard Jr.
She is survived by her husband of almost 32 years, Geoff Thomas; son, Jake Thomas and wife, April; daughter, Raechel Thomas; brother, Tom Pollard and wife, Carole; brother, Charles Pollard and wife, Lynn; sister, Martha Pollard and husband, Leroy Lamprecht; brother-in-law, Michael Thomas and wife, Delise; nieces and nephews, Lindsey Thomas, Lange Thomas, Staci Pollard, Kristi Hobson, Amy Atteberry, Wade Pollard, Heather Tate and Taryne Nickerson.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, with the Rev. W.D. Day officiating. Immediately following the service there will be a reception at Victory Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
