She was born March 1, 1932, in Tyrone, Pa., daughter of Joseph E. Wertz and Mary Elizabeth Templeton Wertz.
"Lee" graduated from Tyrone High School with the class of 1950.
She then attended The Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania Nursing School and graduated from there in 1953 as a Registered Nurse.
On November 8, 1958, she married Dr. Thomas G. McLellan Jr., M.D.
"Lee" served as the Connellsville City Board of Health Nurse for several years and also served on the Board of the Wesley Church Health Center in Connellsville.
"Lee" belonged to several civic organizations including The Hospital Club of Connellsville, The Daughters of the American Revolution Phillip Freeman Chapter, The Daughters of American Colonist Chief Tanacharison Chapter and held state office in that organization, and The Daughters of 1812 Albert Gallatin Chapter.
"Lee" was a member of the Connellsville Presbyterian Church USA.
"Lee" was predeceased by her parents, by her husband, Dr. Thomas G. McLellan Jr., M.D., in 1996, and by a son, William Douglas McLellan in 1978.
"Lee" is survived by her loving family: her son, Thomas G. McLellan III and his wife, Vicky, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; her daughter, Catherine M. McLellan Smith and her husband, Roy Smith, of Hollywood, South Carolina; her granddaughter, Isabella McLellan; and her brother, Kenneth E. Wertz and his wife, Carolyn, of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 EAST GREEN STREET, CONNELLSVILLE, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 18, at 11 a.m. in the CONNELLSVILLE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH USA, corner of Green and South Pittsburgh streets, (EVERYONE PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH). The Rev. Mark L. Juengel will officiate.
A Committal Service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
