Thomas Wintzen Wilcox went home on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005.
He passed away with family and friends by his side.A memorial celebration of Tom's life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the Paso Robles Elks Lodge with barbeque following.

Tom was born July 7, 1927, in Fresno, Calif., but his family relocated soon afterward and he was raised in San Luis Obispo.

He graduated San Luis Obispo High School and attended San Luis Obispo Junior College.

He joined the Navy in January 1945 and served aboard the USS Beale and USS Braine, Upon his discharge in 1946 he went to work for his father, Lou, at Wilcox Appliance in Paso Robles, with Paso Robles Electric and later was in the fireplace business locally.Tom was a special man who loved Paso Robles and was loved by many in his adopted town.

He was an involved individual, volunteering for numerous local organizations, including:

- A charter member of the Paso Robles EIks Club, holding badge 927, the 27th person to join the long established club.
- Involved with the Pioneer Day Committee since 1947, served as chairman in 1960-61.
- Past President of the 20/30 Club.
- Director and past chairman of the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce.
- Director of the Paso Robles Rotary Club.
- Paso Robles Trail Ride, started in 1951, went 37 years without missing a ride, served as president in 1968.

Tom is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara; sister, Donna Foster, formerly of Paso Robles and niece Lee Ann Fehrle; granddaughter, Tina O'Mahoney and husband, Tom; grandson, Casey Wilcox and wife Nancy, stepdaughter Kathie Murphree and husband Jim and step granddaughter Kelsey Mosby; great-grandsons Nathan and Ryan O'Mahoney; and stepbrother Dr. Elbert Donk and wife Jane.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Lou Wilcox and Dorothy Edwards and his son, Titu.
