Lue William McKinney, 83, of Huntsville died Tuesday, October 28, 2003, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born December 30, 1919, in Marathon, Texas, to Thales Earl and Maggie Shackelford McKinney.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy with the Fourth Marines in the Pacific Theatre. He farmed and raised cattle for almost 50 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Fern Ulbrich McKinney; two daughters, Diane Johnson of Fayetteville and Luanne Kauffman of Lake Jackson, Texas; and two grandsons.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Marshall Cemetery in Forum. The Rev. Butch Bolinger will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
